Default 98 2.2 Theft light....

The car will crank and almost fire then the ignition gets cut. I realize there are a few threads on this when searching but I still have a few questions. My theft light on solid, doesnt flash. I have tried leaving it keyed on for 10 minutes but the light never goes out. All the fuses are good. From what I have read it needs an ignition cylinder replaced? Before I spend any more money on this I am just trying to see if it could be anything else needing replaced.

I just got done replacing a head gasket, the only plug I couldnt get put back was the plug by the AC compressor. The only other plugs that could be questionable are 2 injector plugs and the spark plug wires. Not sure if this stuff could be the cause, just wanted to mention it.

Thanks

I don't know. I'd say try anything. I would try with key on, pull the anti-theft fuse, then key off, reinstall fuse.

New lock cylinder did the trick.
