Default service theft system warning light

Hi all-

This light just popped on yesterday in my 2005 Uplander. Keyless entry and ignition function fine, but the light stays on. I'm assuming that it just needs to be reset. Can anyone provide any insight?

Thanks!

If the lights on then there is a malfunction. Better take it to a dealer. Theft deterrent can leave u stranded calling a tow truck-+

You need to have bcm scanned. Gm has had problems with iginition lock cylinders and wire running down column. This was more common on slightly older vehicles but may still happen with newer ones

When this is displayed in the message center it means that your theft deterrent system is disabled. In other words someone could steal the vehicle very easily. Take it to the dealer and have the system reset. Good Luck.
