I'm not familiar with the reliability of the 03 Cavalier so I seek advice on pursuing an engine/tranny swap.

I bought an '03 with 47000 miles on the engine/tranny from my friend's daughter who was original owner with all service records.

My son had it 2 months and got T-boned so the body on the right side is shot. I hate to junk it with such low careful miles if these cars are reliable.

Is it worth my while to find a good chasis/body car with bad engine/tranny and swapping my low miles motor into it?

Obviously cost will factor and it might be necessary to find a body with the motor/tranny already pulled to alleviate the cost of pulling the bad motor/tranny.

What might be a reasonable cost to pull my motor/tranny and place it into a donor body?
