Got the transmission back and going to start reinstalling. Purchase the GM DVD manual from this forum. It was $25.00 and well worth the money.

Default Clutch

Do you need to remove the transmission from the car to replace the clutch. Or can I just pull it to the drivers side wheel well? Thank you

You might be able to pull it to the side, but I think it did not move enough to get the clutch out. If you cut a piece off the cross member the trans will come out and you don't have to drop the front suspension.

Spedaleden,
Do you have a special technique for reinstalling the transmission? Mine is eating my lunch trying to get it back into the car. 2 days, several skinned knuckles, and still no bueno. I tried raising it in back end first, front end first, and still there is interference. You mentioned trimming part of the cross-member. Is that the one on the drivers side that loops under the end of the transmission?
Will.

Thanks for the tip. It was driving me crazy why it wouldn't separate. Through the passenger wheel well is literally the only place you can see it from.
