Default 2005 Cav Check Engine light

I bought my 2005 Cavalier (manual tranny) new offthe lot. And I have three questions.

1) Around 41k miles the Check Engine light came on. Any idea why? I have not had it looked at yet so I'm unsure ofany potentialerror code(s).

2) Whenever I turn right, the frontend (passenger side)rattles/knocks around a bit. It is NOT in the engine. Could this be the U joint? It only happens when I slow down to turn right. It does NOT happen when I'm stopped and then turn right.

3) Whenever I take off from a stop, the dash rattles a bit. It's right in the middle of the dash. It sounds to me like it's loose.

Thanks so much for all your help!

Default RE: 2005 Cav Check Engine light

1. Could be ANYTHING. loose gas cap, bad 02, intermitent misfire.....get it scanned to see what it is so your not trying to fix something blindly.
2. Probably the control arm bushing, or a ball joint. jack it up and check the front end. Inspect where the lower control arm bolts to the body. Specifically the bolt that goes straight up. Check to see if the rubber has separated from the steel ring around it and if the control arm is touching\close to the body.
3. again, it could be anything. Money or smething similar could have dropped down the defrost vent. Take the dash apart and check the obvious. Take it for a drive while apart to see if you can pin point the rattle
