2005 Cavalier a/c button staying on
The A/C button on my car is staying lit up even when it should be off. The A/C compressor is running anytime I turn the ****, even trying to put it on heat and pushing the button to where the A/C should be off. Any thoughts on what is causing this because I am afraid it is going to burn the compressor up.

Don't be afraid.
Are you sure it is running? Can you feel the dehumidified cold air coming out?
Have you used the button excessively? Have you tried pushing harder and/or firmer?
Do you hear the button click when you press it?
If I remember my 2002 z24, does the button move in/out? Or does it always stay "in" or does it pop "outwards" when turned off with the light still on?
I ran 2002 compressor for 95k miles.
Don't be afraid.

You can run the ac on heat. You would get drier air.
But if your light isn't turning off then and the button is locking in place then yeah it sounds like you have a minor issue.
Sorry, I don't have a gen2 j body manual.

Thank you for your help! The button doesn't actually stick in place, it will switch from the on and off position it just doesn't actually turn the compressor off. Since I know it shouldn't hurt anything I will probably just leave it alone (:
