Can someone please tell the best way to remove this? I'm guessing it's some kind of rivet. My door latch is stuck and the door won't close. I need to get the latch out and this is the only thing in my way.

 

What do you mean by stuck latch? Does the door just bounce back open when trying to close? If so, have you tried holding the handle up like opening the door and at the same time, swing the latch mechanism open. If the works, lube the mechanism and hopefully won't need to tear in to it.

can you pan out so i can see where in the door this is?

rivets...drill them out...but ru sure they need to be removed? reason is i never have had to remove a door handle to remove the door latch?
