96 Cav turn signal replace

I have a 96 Cavalier with a broken front left turn signal lens. I was wondering what is the best way to replace it, take the headlight out and go behind it or go through the inner fender?

I guess nobody's done this. I guess I'll try the headlight first and see what happens.
