Check to see if your 3rd brake light is out. 4th gen Camaros will trip the ABS and brake light when the 3rd brake light is out, wouldn't surprise me if other models work this way as well.

get the chassis code read and post the results here. That is your diagnostic starting point.

a dyi basic code reader won't read chassis codes. You will need a full function scan tool.

ah ok ill find out i sending in car to be certified on tuesday so ill find out
as i cant read the codes so they will have to also checked the wires cnat find no breaks

and you cant read any voltage continuity or ohms on any abs plug so you cant test any broken lines so that sucks

i could care less i should have just taken cluster out and put electrical tape over the 2 brake lights so i wouldnt have to as if you can drive a car that has no abs or what not you shouldnt be driving at all cant relie on abs to stop you

you can ohms abs wires. its part of pinpoint testing; the ebcm and sensor connectors are disconnected first. maybe your thinking airbag systems.

hope your in a region that allow it to pass safety inspection with an abs light on.

ya i not sure i sent it in last night to local garage maybe he let it pass like its just dumb

no have not tested the airbage

all i did was unhook each sensor the 4 sensors and just put multi meter at each connector the 2 and i couldnt get nothing and i never unhooked abs wires at other end so i gave up i not sure where they plug into

i dont know if they go in the computer as the Hayes repair book will not show abs wiring diagrams

hi latest update and i still pissed

i have the abs light on i thought it was sensors it wasnt i though air and it wasnt i bled them etc
car is now at the garage for 2 weeks and all mechanic says is his code reader says can not communicate with the ABS computer so is there another computer i can pull out of my 97 sunfire and give him to put in there to try it or does it go directly to the computer ??? or how does this work
as really i dont see reason u need ABS to pass certification cuz brakes work normal as they arent going to put ABS on older vehicles so there no point i should have put black tape over the abs and brake light ugh
and does anyone know the wires to check if there is a break?
