Hey guys I just got this car TODAY as a second car and now it won't start, this is wierd because it was running earlier. The guy I got it from said it happens occassionally and what he did was make sure the car was on level ground and it would start. The fuel pump kicks on but the car won't turn over at all it almost seems like the sensor in the ignition is bad, is this a common problem or does anyone have any suggestions, HELP PLEASE!!

PS: I'm almost 100% sure it is not the battery either because all the lights are bright and everything inside works.

 

Well I went out and cleaned off the negative battery terminal real well and VAAAAARROOOOOMM!!

I have the same problem with my 00 Cavalier. Car won't start but lights, radio everything else works. Sometimes it seems its about to start but nothing. I'm going to do what imjdoggie did and let see if it works on my car.

 

joe, after a few weeks with the car I realized it needed a starter.

 

This was the first time my car wouldn't start. I put the car in level ground and it work. Right now its working fine. Don't know if in the near future I would also need to buy a starter too though.

 

I just hit 180,000 with the 2.2 so I can't complain.
