ABS question
Hi again. OK here is what is going on about 4 months ago I had the ABS light come on on my 2000 cavalier. I had a few other problems relating to the vent solenoid wires being broke off at the plug and harness in the back underneath the car. Well I rigged the wires to the solenoid temporarily by just bypassing the the plug and connecting the wires straight to the pins until I could find the right plug to do it right and it fixed the check engine light. What I noticed is the ABS light turned off as well and it stayed off until yesterday when I finally got and replaced the right plug to the solenoid. Shortly after i fixed the plug I noticed the ABS light came back on. So I was thinking their must be a loose wire or something in relation to the ABS system plugged into the same harness. So I looked and found the ABS sensor wires are indeed plugged into the same harness as the vent solenoid. So I turned the car on had my wife sit in the car and inspected the sensor wires and plugs moved them around and could not get it to go back off. The only other thing I did while fixing the vent solenoid was to unhook the negative battery cable and pulled the emergency brake to keep the car from rolling back and crushing me while I was under it. Can the pulling the emergency brake cause the ABS light to come on if the brake shoes on the back of the car are worn? Or can the emergency brake cause the ABS light to come on at all? I have little experience with ABS braking system besides common since stuff. I want to add this not that it means anything but I have noticed even when the ABS light was off I noticed when in park the car running when I hit the brake I do notice the engine (HMMMM) its like it changes like lower idling or RPMS or something not real bad but noticeable only when sitting there hitting the brake. When driving you do not notice it I am guessing because your easing on the brake. Sorry for the length of the question just wanted to be as thorough as possible. Thanks
