Default Air Conditioner

I have a 97' Cavalier and i'm having some a/c problems. When idling and at low speeds (below 60), my compressor and fan come on, but the air is not cold. However, if i really give it some gas, or cruise above 70 or 80 the air becomes cold.. :-/ Anybody got any ideas why it goes warm below 70 mph or while not giving it a bunch of gas?

Default It happened on my blazer

It turned out the pump although not broken was worn inside and wasn't pumping efficiently. what ever made it move the freon had worn inside and some was being pushed but not all hense at low rpm's the compressor didn't push it fast enough to make it cold but at high rpm's it got cold. Sooo the only fix was to replace the pump, I just suffered until it died and bought another car.
