Default Block Heater installation on 2002 Z24

Ok, I’m looking to install a engine/block heater on my 2002 z24 cavalier. I live in Minnesota and had to move the cavalier outside, which is my daily driver, to make room in the garage for another project. Oriellys had one that said it was compatible. The only info I’ve found is that it goes in the water pump. You take a freeze plug out of the water pump and install the element in its place. It’s a plug that will come out with a 3/8” drive. I’ve taken the plug out and screwed the element back in in it’s place. Everything fits and appears to be ok. But I’m nervous to start the car... I don’t want to tear up the water pump or something.

is this correct? Anyone have any experience with this?
