2002 Chevy Cavalier overheating
I changed the water pump and thermostat on my cavalier and it still is overheating. The fan kicks on but car still overheats within 10 mins. Please help

Welcome to the forum...
I will move your post to the Cavalier section for more exposure
Has the cooling system been regularly serviced, is it possible the radiator is blocked with sludge?
Have you checked the thermostat in a pot of boiling water to ensure its working?
Is the upper hose getting hot right away or at all after its been running?
What are the symptoms you are seeing that tell you its over heating besides the gauge as its possible the sending unit is bad...

I did way more than you have on my 02 cav in 2011. I documented it all on here. All 4 pages. The weather is warm so try and bypass, not block off the heater core. If there isn't enough "FLOW" through the heater core the thermostat won't open. Its not one of GM's better ideas. My thread linkhttps://chevroletforum.com/forum/cav...rything-45692/ Ps let us know if this helped, mines still running.
