Blower defies repair

Blower defies repair
I'm having a problem with my '98 Cavalier blower. I've successfully replaced the resistor in the past when the lower speeds went out. This time shortly after the low speeds on the blower fan failed it quit completely. No problem just install a new resistor. No improvement. Check the fuse - good. Replace the relay then replace the fan. Still no blower. At this point I've got a good fuse, new relay, new resistor and new blower fan but still no working blower.
Anyone have an idea on how to troubleshoot this?

PS After doing some research on this site the voltages at the relay are good with one pin a constant hot, one pin goes hot with key on, one pin is a constant ground. I do not get voltage at the purple wire to the blower.
