Default Can I "hotwire" a cavi that won't start?

I have a 91 Cavalier that just got a new starter, and now the starter switch or ignitioncylinder appears to be dead.

For about two days the car would give off the audible "you forgot the keys in the ignition" alert even if the keys weren't left in the ignition. Then all of a sudden, the chime went away but the car would fail to turn over right away; I had to turn the key to the start position like 20 times the first time it got "stuck", then about 50 times the second time. When the key is turned all the way into the start position, the radio turns off and dash lights change yet the starter (brand new) doesn't crank, click, or do anything at all. Yes, the fuel pump is pressurizing when the ignition is set to ON.

As of today, the car won't start at all no matter how many times I turn the key. I need this car to get to work tomorrow so I was hoping there was a way I could bypass the stupid ignition and start the car by touching wires together and whatnot. If you need wiring diagrams, go here: http://www.autozone.com/shopping/repairGuide.htm?pageId=0900c1528003bdaaI've been googling and studying those diagrams for hours and I haven't found one solution that I could try without riskingfrying somethingelse. Please, if you know what wires I have to touch to get this car started, let me know.

Just buy you a new ignition cylinder. they are not that expensive and you'll never have to worry with it again.

If you are still having trouble, try replacing your starter relay.[/align]
