Cavalier clutch problem??????
Have a 2001 Cavalier. Went to make a U-turn and the motor just reved up when I left the clutch out. I can move the shifting lever (5 speed) and there is no "feel" as to what gear it is in. I can wiggle the shifter and there is no "feel" to it. I had someone shift into all 5 gears and reverse and the shifter cables move the transmission into all of the gears. The clutch was replaced about 3-4 years ago and everything was working fine up to the time I made the U-turn. I'm assuming something let go in the clutch. Any ideas as to the problem before I junk it? The body and interior are in excellent condition, as well as the engine.
