Hey guys/gals my GF inherited a little 4 door cavalier i think its a 97 or 96
only has 36000kms or 22363 miles
needless to say it hasnt been driven in 7 years. so i did all the regular maitenance stuff but it has a weird issue where the variable setting on the heater fan doesnt work all the time (works on max speed all the time) but varies with the others somedays it works fine other days not so much.
any ideas where to start?

thanks tech 2, even though it is intermittent it should still be that? it is now working again after i hit a pothole.

 

that sounds more like a blower motor with worn motor brushes. next time it goes out...hammer fist the blower motor. usually when the blower motor brushes wear out; it won't work in any speed setting.
