Default No Heat......

Hey guys,
I just bought a 91 Cavalier with 150K to drive to and from work this winter.
After changing coolant and installing new thermostat, I am still getting no heat.
It does not even come close to overheating. The temp never gets above halfway(180?). The blower works fine and the 2 radiator hoses get hot. I have no idea where the heater exchange hoses go in at to check them. They are on the bottom of the engine bay somewhere I assume?
There is a little steam that comes from the radiator when it gets hot so I know it has a tiny leak but no coolant is coming out. I know this could potentially be a problem but I've had a car that had a leaky radiator before but I still had heat. In fact I had a dodge van that almost gushed coolant before and it still put out heat.
So I am guessing my next step is to flush the heater core right? Where exactly are the hoses? Easily accessible or no? Also what is the best way to flush it when I do locate the hoses?
one more thing too..... The transmission is manual but I have no tac. Does this mean someone converted it from an automatic?

Thanks a ton guys,
Ian

Heater core hoses are usually run through the firewall. Not quite sure on a Cav, but the core usually sits behind the glovebox. Just look for hoses coming off the t-stat line going toward the back of the car.

If the core is plugged, it might be easier to swap it for a new one.
