Try driving on the side roads in a lower gear to keep the rpm's up. DONT over do it. If it runs cooler let us know. Mine did that and if i kept the rpm's above 2500 it ran cool. At idle it would creep up like yours. I still think you should bundle up and bypass the heater core and test drive it. Ohio ?* vs Arizona 77* sorry this is the only time of the year we can brag about the temperature.

I changed the cap on the tank today and no change.. I am going to change the t-stat again maybe tomorrow.. I got the new sensor and will drop that in.. The hose coming off the t-stat is still cold and the radiator is cold..

I'm betting its another clogged heater core. How many times have we seen that eh bw56. its usually the last thing to get considered and maybe rightly so...it just doesn't seem like it should be the cause but usually it is for this vehicle.

If SHE'S not careful she's going to pass me on the number of things i did trying to fix mine. I documented my efforts on here in 2011. "2002 still getting hot after changing everything" They haven't made cars any easier to work on for the little guy either. Mines still running. How can i make a link to my old thread? Links for dummies didn't work.

On mine that's the one thing GM did right. They made it so idiot proof it only went in one way.
