Default P0301 code

Just joined the forum and I have a question right off. 2000 Cavalier 2.2 has a problem. Car started running rough. Threw on the OBD and got the P0301 "cylinder No. 1 misfire". The plugs are new and look that way. The plug wires didn't look to good so I replaced them. I pulled the coils and cleaned everything real well. Put it all back together and guess what. Still runs the same. Anybody got any ideas?

My thoughts tend to lean toward an injector as well. Got a good question for ya. At what point does the computer analyze the cylinder fire? If it picks it up at the exhaust the injector could be the issue, if it picks up at ignition then it has to be electrical. Right?

the computer takes data from both kinda
takes data from the knock sensor and the O2 sensors
if u had a gas analyzer you could tell
or even a ignition scope u could check the spark pattern
switch the inector and see if the problem follows the injector
