Default replacing brake fluid

Hello, my wife drives a 2002 cavalier Ls. I would like to replace the brake fluid as preventative maint. I'm from old school method of pumping brake pedal and opening bleeder till pedal hits floor then close bleeder and let pedal up and repeat several times. I've read many articles as to how this method can be damaging to ABS systems. How would you go about bleeding the new fluid into the lines. would you need some kind of pressure bleeder or will the pumping pedal method be safe? also with car running or off?

just unplug the abs and do it your way, then it wont mess with the abs. The abs plugs are right behind the rotor. Very easy to get to.

Bah, the ABS system in the J-car is so simplistic, you couldn't hurt it unless you used a hammer to smash it with

I use a vacuum bleeder on the valves to pull the fluid thru. $20, and you can do it yourself... no need to rely on someone else pumping at the right times
