Default rough idle, won't go above 35

I have a 1997 cavalier 2.2l. idles rough with constant misfire codes at idle but they stop at higher rpm, won't go above 35 mph. plugs, wires, coil pack, fuel pressure regulator all changed. catalytic converter removed (not plugged), idle air control valve working, egr working, compression check-all cylinders at 160, good fuel pressure, fuel filter good, no o2 sensor codes, valve cover removed all looks fine, no problems starting, bogs down when floored. any help would be greatly appreciated

How do you know the cat converter is not plugged? Did you connect a back pressure gauge up to the o2 sensor port? Did you check for a vacuum leak? Did you clean the MAF sensor?

Have your fuel injectors flow tested, or remove them and soak them in carb cleaner for a while. Been there with a Cav, had that, along with a random misfire code they were causing. I wouldn't bother with the injector cleaner in the gas, I tried it and it didn't help at all. The injectors required "close personal attention".
