I have a 2002 Sunfire. I am putting an engine from a 2003 Cavalier in it. The transmission is still an F23 but the bell housing configuration is different because it needs to attach to the ecotech engine. There is a bracket attached to the shifter cables that bolts to the transmission bellhousing to hold the cables in place. Since the bellhousing is a different configuration the bracket is not compatible. The cables themselves are identical and would work fine if I could find this bracket. It seems to be a unicorn. No part number, not even a specific name apparently. I think this is because it originally came as part of the cable assembly. After market suppliers don't appear to provide it with the cables and it looks like GM no longer makes it. Any idea where I can get this thing.

 

You cn check the junk yards. You might get lucky. I don't know what it looks like, but you could possibly make one or go to a machine shop and see if they can make one.
