Sleeper...
I don't have the cash to do it now, but I'm looking to turn a Cavalier into one heck of a sleeper someday...
I'm looking to do this with a 2nd gen.
If anybody knows of any really good suspension upgrades, powerful big braking kits, etc.
I'll also need a transmission that can handle the horsepower/torque of the following:
Call me insane, but my intent is to drop an LS1 or LS2 into it. Then I'm gonna slap a turbocharger on that bad boy... Maybe a TT if I can find one to fit or fabricate one...
I haven't even run the figures on what I could get out of an LS2 with a turbocharger...
I'd also like to find or fab a transfer case and a diff. and make it RWD. As you can imagine, that means some seeeeerious modifications just to make sure I don't wind up dead
the first time I drive it.
Now, there'll be a good bit of extra weight there... However, with as light as a Cavalier is in the first place, it'll be kinda light... That much horsepower with so small a car...
If I pull this off, I could probably take the finished product to a track and spin circles around half the other cars there.
I know some guys on the police force... Wonder if I could persuade any of them to race a cruiser... heh heh...
Any help is appreciated. It may take me 5-10 years or more to pull all of this together, but... If I can make it happen, I'm gonna be quite proud of my handiwork.

Number one, I don't want a Cobalt. They're too small. I can't even stand a 3rd gen Cavalier because they're too small. I don't want to play with the engine on one either.
Number two, I don't do factory bolt-ons. I cobble together something that's totally optimized.
For example:
Why pay $300 for a CAI kit when you can make your own for $50 tops?
It performs the exact same. I guess it's just for a brand name...
