Default Where is the AC's orifice tube 97 Cavalier?

Replacing the compressor, they told me at Advanced I had to replace the accumalator and orifice tube to get the warranty. Can not find the orifice tube. Been all over the internet, but can't find anything similiar to my ac layout that helps.

I'm not sure if yours were modified somehow but the orifice tube should be located at the condenser outlet, i.e., between the short piece of tube from the condenser and the long evaporator tube that goes to the firewall.

Found it in the front passanger corner.

The smaller diameter line that goes from the condensor to the evaporator is where it is. There is a junction there with a 13mm nut, I think that is the size. You access the nut down through a hole behind the passanger head light. Remove with needle nose and reinstall new $2 orifice tube.

I spent a little over $200 for parts and another $100 to have it vaccumed, rechecked for leaks, dye and oil added along with the 1.5lbs of refrigerant. The estimates where all at $800+ to have it done.

Glad to hear. There's nothing like a job well done and money saved as well. Thanks for the update.
