I bought a 76 chevelle Malibu from a friends dad for 500. The car has a i6 in it. I figure it is a 250 engine. However whenever I search up the vehicle I find a whole different body style with stacked rectangle headlights. My chevelle has single round lights. Also I can not find any specs on the motor. It has to be an original motor because the vins match. Can anyone help me with discovering the actual year and style of this vehicle. Because I'm so confused and do not know if I bought exactly what I thought I bought. I've attached an image of the vehicle. Any answers is helpful thank you all

 

I believe 1973 to 1975 had round lights and stacked 1976 and 1977. Yours may have been a late 1975 titled as a 1976 or possibly for some reason it ended up with the earlier front heaadlights due to an accident. I think the fenders and hood are the same 1973-1977

 

That sure looks a lot like my 1975. If the title says 1976, I would assume somebody changed the face of it with 1973-1975 parts.
