Default Center console

There is a lot of heat coming up through the center console. It’s so hot that the shifter is very hot. Is anything I can do to reduce the heat or eliminate it completely? It’s a 1965 chevelle Malibu convertible.... any ideas or thoughts are very welcome. Thanks

They make a stick on aluminum foil piece that would likely work to deflect the heat. Are you running headers? I am assuming no exhaust leaks, of course.

Open up the console or remove it to find where all this heat is coming from. I have never had that much heat coming from a center console. Are the floors solid?

Hi, thanks for replying to me. I just had the car restored including changing the column to the center console.
