I have an 86 el Camino 5.0 auto calif emissions. Took it for a smog test and failed the ign timing test as it would not make the transition to base timing mode it just does and when started in test mode would hardly run for the first minute or so. Had the carb rebuilt runs much better now but still won’t make the switch to base timing mode without firing. Maybe the EST module in the dist is faulty? Any help with this is appreciated as I need to get it to pass the emissions test
