Default Need trans. help for my 81 Malibu Coupe!!!!

I have a 1981 Malibu Coupe with a mildly built Corvette 350 with 66k on it putting out about 425hp, Chevy 10 bolt with 4.11 rear, and STOCK 3 on the tree auto. The trans currently has only 1st and reverse. I plan on putting in a new transmission such as the TCI streetfighter or something similar. The only thing is I'm not sure which model to get. Do I go by the motor or the stock trans? Their selections go by Th350, 700r4,200 etc.

A 350 is a 3 speed automatic. A 400 is a 3 speed automatic. A 700R4 and 200/4R are 4 speed automatics. You have either a 350 or 400 automatic transmission in your car. Look at transmission, the vacuum modulator is on the right rear of transmission on a 350. And its on the right side of transmission near filler tube if its a 400. We do changeovers from 3 speeds to 4 speeds ( 350 to 700R4) check my site.
