New Camino Owner
So here's my story... also feel free to skip to pictures of Elko.
I've been driving a 2002 Chevy Cavalier for the last 12 years. Before that I owned a 1987 Volvo 240DL. The latter my dad purchased for me using funds my great-grandmother left me when she died. I'm pretty sure they were for college and they figured I was never going. I got the Cavalier because when I actually DID go to college, my parents were so overjoyed they wanted to make it easy for me to actually finish, Pop got a sweet deal and I got...
An appreciation for GM. I'll never forget the day I test drove a Ford Focus and the Cavalier. Both were standard, even though Pop tried to talk me out of it, but he was damn pleased when I liked the Cav better.
Anyway, fast forward to 2014. I've wanted a muscle car for a while. Hell, I just want a car that I *LIKE*. But maybe I want a truck. I keep going back and forth between truck and muscle car before I realize I can have both.
I find this little number on Craigslist and it's basically the most perfect thing ever. It's the first car I ever bought for myself.

I've never been much of a gearhead. I like cars, but don't have the slightest idea how to work on them. The plan was / is: Buy something that runs and is well maintained, learn how to work on it through ownership. I wouldn't even trust someone else to change the oil on Elko, so there's lots of opportunity.
Anyway, no problems yet. I need some mechanics tools and a shop manual -- and if any of you guys have a recommendation on the latter, I'm all ears. Just wanted to sign up and say hello.
