TH 2000 4R. 1st gear not working.

TH 2000 4R. 1st gear not working.

After fill with transmission oil, because empty of oil and making a sound. Now the transmission doesn't in 1st when running. Is a El Camino 80.
What is the tipical problem for this problem? Thanks in advanced.

Pull the trans pan off and see if there is metal or clutch plate material in it. If so, you have a mechanical problem. If not, you may have a hydraulic problem. Do any of the gears work?
