Hey guys I’m about to get a 454 engine that was in a 1977 motor home. Checking to see if you can put performance upgrades on this year engine? I know it only has 70,000 miles on it a 4 barrel carburetor and had a heavy duty transmission with it. From what I have been able to find out it only had about 250 horsepower. So is it worth putting cam,heads,and upper set up on it?

 

The heads that are on it will give you a better indicator of what horsepower it is.Is it a Rochester quad.? If so, you can get the cfm from the number, that too, will give you a better idea of it.
