I have a 79 K - 20 Franken truck
It is a melting pot of all things Chevy
The frame is 79 cab is 81 rear is 92
I'm looking to rebuild the trans and transfer case in it
It has the SM 465 trans and the NP 205 Case this i am sure of
Problem is, while looking for a rebuild kit for the trans, the 78-81 seems to be different
How can I identify what year my trans is from

Can try to contact a dealer and see if they still have the old parts books.
