Default Brake caliper trouble

Currently having trouble with my 1986 GMC C3500 having no brakes. I would like to start this project by bleeding the system and seeing if I have brake fluid pressure in the master cylinder, however, I cannot get the bleeder valve to break loose, I stopped before I stripped the hex and decided it would be easier to get out if I took the whole caliper off. I figured out how the caliper comes off but I am unable to do so, I cannot get the wedge/clip out that goes between the caliper and the mount.
Any tricks tips or secrets would be appreciated.

a chisel and a bfh will work just fine. ive bleed mine before by cracking the banjo bolt on the caliper and letting gravity do the job. also try using a socket and ratchet.

ive always hit mine inward i dont think theres a right or wrong way to hit it. but i would also get a new hardware kit.
should of prob specified what tools to use on what. use a BFH and chisel on the caliper slide wedge and use the socket and ratchet on the bleeder valve.

Use a flare nut wrench. If the hex rounds off then use a good vise grip pliers and replace the bleeder. This has worked for me many times.
