C10 integrated or non integrated head issue
Hi here's my dilemma I am helping a lady with her C10 1978 i4.1 nline 6 truck. The Previous mechanic installed a another engine because the first one had main bearing issues but left it taken apart afew vacuum lines attached and the truck will not stay running The engine that was installed has an integrated head intake and exhaust along with the Rochester two barrel varajet carb. The engine that was taken out had a single barrel head and intake an exhaust assembly. When I first took a look at the truck they had vacuum lines that I'm not sure exactly where they go and it seems as if there is 2 EGR plumbing pipes coming offf the exhaust on each side are just pinched off and seems as if they need to run somewhere I am not sure where they go according to the schematics that I pull up online it's very vague and I understand some of it cuz I could see it but it doesn't pertain to the two barrel carb and the integrated head assembly so my question is should I just remove the head off the engine that was taken out along with the one barrel carburetor and just replace the one that is in the truck now? Or if I can somehow get some assistance in regards to what goes where because it doesn't seem like there's very many vacuum lines and stuff I need to connect I just want to know if it's going to be a bigger headache than just taking off the other head and single barrel and installing it to the engine that was installed. Which would be the better way to go in your opinions?
