Default C30 brakes and steering

Hey, I’m new to the world of older chevy’s and trucks in general, I recently picked up an ‘86 c30 and had a couple questions about the steering / braking system.

the truck came with a bbc from factory but has been swapped with a 350 sbc (donor car unknown). From what I can tell the power steering pump and alternator mounts are for bbc. The issue is the power steering pump is only mounted on a single bolt, causing the belt to slip from lack of tension. I know the c30 has a bit of a different pump because of the hydroboost brakes, but would standard Saginaw sbc mounts fit, or is there specific ones?

additionally, when the brakes are pressed, power steering is lost completely, is this a hydroboost problem or because of the slipping pump.

and finally, does anyone know what that box on the floor is, the wires are cut and it’s hooked up to a brake line.

Something connected to the brakes

Thanks to anyone who can give me some insight into this!

Welcome to the forum, I notice almost no one reply’s to questions here anymore maybe they don’t know the answer or why but you got 194 views

any how it looks to me the belts are backwards
i don’t know much about this year model but the box you have I believe is for towing is some type of brake system but not 100% sure I saw that on a old diesel Chevy suburban years ago

as far as I can remember brake booster work independently from power steering pump

good luck fixing your truck
