Default More driveshaft problems

1981 k10 - cannot get slip yoke to slide into transfer case, when I hammer it out finally makes loud pop noise as if there’s a vacuum created by rear output seal. I cannot get it to slip far enough in, has anyone heard of this happening? Thanks for the help

There should be no vacuum as transmissions and transfer cases have a vnrt or vent hose to maintain atmospheric pressure of the unit operating..

Thanks for the help. what could be stopping the yoke from going in the slip yoke is fine and so is the rear output shaft. It slides on for a few inches and then stops but it’s not bottomed out. I can hammer it in with a mallet but I don’t know if that’s a stupid thing to do or not.
