Default Starting Refresh on 1979 K10

I’m about to start trying to get a 1979 custom deluxe k10 with a 400 small block running again, and was wondering if anyone had some advice on the process. The truck was running, but the rear end went out about 20 years or so ago. Trying to find a 12 bolt 3.73 rear end to swap in it, and I’m hoping it’ll run after rebuilding the carb. It was on 38’s, and I’ll probably keep it that way. Just have to see what kinda shape the shocks are in. Any help or advice from experience with these trucks would be appreciated!
