Default What size is my steering wheel nut

1981 Chevy K20
Hi guys-I'm a newbie so I may not be posting in the correct place. If so please tell me and I will go there.
I need help finding out if anyone knows what size the nut that holds the steering wheel onto the spine might be? I have a thread counter, I have have tap and die, but for the life of me and and half my chevy friends
we can't seem to find the right nut. I had to dremel the one that was originally there due to the threads being stripped on the bolt and it would not come up the spine for me to remove the other pieces to replace the
ignition cylinder. I have exhaused myself and not sure if anyone has any other ideas or suggestions? It seems to be a little bigger than an a 1/2 and the pitch is measuring 18, but could also be worn maybe just from
age. I'm just at a loss right now and feel dumb, like the answer is staring right at me and I'm missing it.

The right place were you'll get the most answers is the full-size pickup section. Not sure why you picked "other". I'll move it for you this time.
