Something crazy happened with my Chevy cobalt today, I was in a parking lot driving around another car who is blocking the straightaway when my gas pedal stuck to the floor, The front tires did it burn out before I slammed the brakes which didn’t stop the car so I pulled the parking break and shut off the car. I haven’t been able to re-create it for the mechanic but it’s scary because i’m worried this may happen again. Does anyone know what may have caused it if so how can I fix it? My car is a 2007 Chevrolet cobalt LT coupe automatic transmission, no antilock brakes, no cruise control, it does have factory floor mats which weren’t underneath the Accelerator.

 

i searched and i see no recall for that but other people have mentioned the same issue. but none posted a fix
