08 Cobalt, heater/ac blend door actuator rod broke in half. is the blend door part of the lower heater box assembly or can it be replaced after disassembly.

this probably won't help but here's what i know.
haven't done a cobalt but the actuators are the same as equinox models I have done. if equinox models, a tab on the end of the blend door fits into the actuator and is turned when the actuator moves. when the tab breaks the entire door must be replaced which involves removing the heater box.

gm has come up with a sleeve repair and special cutting tool for the nox models that cuts the repair time down from 7hrs to 1hr. I do not know if the sleeve will work for the cobalt.

Thanks Tech2, that's kind of what I figured. looks like a spring project, opened the door for heat now. waiting for warmer weather.
