Cobalt This sporty compact was faced with the difficult job of replacing the popular Cavalier, but whether the base model, or the supercharged SS is chosen, is has made for a great replacement.

Default Issue with power windows

2008 Chevy Cobalt, 43K miles, one owner.
Driver side window works, other 3 do not. Not a child lock issue. Did everything recommended on other sites with slamming the door then opening and trying again etc. No luck.
Also can not charge my cell phone with any of the lighter outlets.

Questions I have:
1. Are these related issues?
2. Would the window issue be a switch issue verses motor?
3. Would the lighter issue possibly be a fuse if it is not related to the windows?
4. Car is on limited warranty. Is this usually covered.

The reason for #4 is that this was my mothers car who passed away last month. No prior issues with this car. Even tho I am a girl, I can fix cars fairly well but if this is a warranty issue, I'll let a dealer take care of it. If not, I may have to come back to the forums for help. So for now, I am just looking for ideas verses "how to".

One last totally unrelated question....it is so annoying when I shut the car off and all the doors except the drivers door stays locked. Is there anyway to make it so that when the car goes into park, all four door unlock?

Thanks for any help you all can give me.
Nancy

I've had the problem repeatedly with my 2008 Cobalt. It is probably the regulator. My car is just out of warrantee and both the front and back regulators went out on the drivers side. It was VERY expensive to fix. Chevrolet couldn't care less that one of the regulators was replaced before. As far as they are concerned, out of warrantee, not their problem.

These issues could possibly be related, it's difficult to say. Have you taken the vehicle to your dealer? If you would like to post (or pm) your VIN number, I can let you know if your vehicle is still under warranty. Keep me posted!
