Default Losing electrical when starting car

I had my ignition replaced under the recall, but ever since then, I have experienced problems with losing electrical systems when starting the car. The engine turns over ok, so it's not a battery problem, but the everything else goes dead. However, the headlights do turn on. I have no power steering, no brakes, no gauges and no clock/radio. Could the replacement ignition also be defective? The dealership has been of no use in trying to resolve the problem.

what time frame are we talking; this happening after the recall repair? immediately or the next day, week?

the brakes could not be effected by anything electrical unless you have the turbo or s/c cobalt which run a vacuum pump assist motor.

the only thing that comes to mind is if the ignition switch is indexed wrong; you will have power mode mismatches. this would occur immediately, not later that day etc.

Just wondering if your problem was resolved. My cobalt is doing the exact same thing - it started last night....
