2007 Colorado Audio issue
Hi all, I am new to this forum. Hope I don't breach etiquette!
I just bought the ISimple Soundbyte peripheral so I can listen to my ipod/iphone while driving. (and charge that sucker too).
The hookup is pretty strait forward and uses my XM radio connection without disconnecting my XM (It "daisy chains") and doesn't require any additional connections.... BUT it does have two wires that I must connect; one is a ground, I should have no problem with that one; the other is a 12v constant.
I am not familiar with running a line from my fuse box or which wire I could tap into to get my 12v constant. Should I try to use one to one of my cig. lighter ports under the radio? If I need to run one from my fuse box, what is the best way?
I am a pretty handy guy and want to do it myself. I am familiar with some basic wireing and know my way around vehicles mechanically but I don't know about wireing for the radio. Luckily for me I am smart enough to know when I don't know enough... so here I am.

I have an 07 Colorado Z71 crew cab. Factory radio still in it. I don't do much "modding".
Any help as "dumbed down" as you can get would be great. Thanks!

OK, project completed. The 12vC from the radio was actually "orange". I quote that because the wiring diagram states orange but it really looked sort of brown-ish.
I ran my wiring and all works well. Over-all I would say this is a good device if you guys are trying to use your iphone or ipod while driving (I am using my iphone 3g). It plays both my ipod music or I can stream music through an app like pandora. Granted I have only tried it out for about 45 minutes in the driveway.
I used some adhesive Velcro to stick the little box on top of the radio (not over the vent holes) and tapped into the radio's 12v constant and ground. I used Velcro so I could remove the box if I need to remove the radio... The space around the radio is only big enough for the radio. I was able to easily reach my hand through the a/c vent area to stick the peripheral box onto the radio while it was half way in the space.
It was easier than I had expected. Currently the cable to connect to my iphone just comes out of the bottom of the dash area under the cigarette lighters. I plan to change that this weekend and maybe run it to the console if that isn't too much of a task. Any pointers or ideas guys? I can post pics if needed.
I thought it would take up the xm spot because it connects through the same port, but it looks like it tricks my radio into thinking it is actually a cd changer. Sound quality is great so far.
