In my 2022 Colorado, the 12 volt auxiliary power from the “cigarette lighter” ports only works when the key is turned on. How can I change this so that it is powered all the time? I only want to run a thermoelectric cooler so I can’t see this being a battery drainer?

It's not, but it makes charging up a cellphone a bear, if you intend to leave it charging like I do
often.

And they don't want people smoking! Notice the missing cigarette ashtrays?. Back in the 1940's
some cars had _two_ ashtrays in the front and one or two in the back, typically in the armrests!

Me? I'd forget about it and install an under dash plug that works full-time. Two screws and
it's installed.

You can get them anywhere and run the hotline to the fuse box and ground it
anywhere that's metal that grounds off to the vehicle. They make a brass insert, for getting
a power wire to attach to any fuse that runs power all the time.
