BillBreeze,

Do the tires need to be changed? How old are they? Are you hauling excessive weight in the vehicle? Does the vehicle need a tune-up? What grade of fuel are you using? You may want to consider upgrading to 93. How many miles are on the vehicle? Driving habits need to be considered too.

These are just suggestions. The estimated mpg's for a 1997 Blazer are 15 city / 20 highway.

I'm sure other posters will offer additional information too.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me.

Default Blazer gas consumption

Thanks very much, Louis. I didn't realize that the consumption rates were that low...I've new tires and never exceed the speed limit and was wondering if there might be a sensor that could be checked, just in case.
Kind regards,
Bill

BillBreeze,

You may want to have the oxygen sensor checked. You may also want to check out the gas mileage tips at: Gas Mileage Tips
