Angry keyless remote problems

my 2013 colorado has had problems with both remote transmitters since i bought the car a year ago... i.e. they work about 60% of the time.
a month after i got the car, the dealer replaced the drivers side door lock actuator, and said that fixed the problem.
it didn't, and since it took them a week to attempt the repair (and i use my truck for work), i just decided to live with it.
today, i took the truck back for a free oil change, etc, and asked them to try to fix the issue again.
they replaced the two remotes with two new ones, and programmed them to the truck, and told me the problem was solved.
when i got home, guess what? neither remote worked. i called them, pretty well fed up, and they told me that there must be interference from somewhere close by, and to try to move the truck to a different location. i live in san francisco, where there is probably more random radio signals than anywhere else, including electric and gas meters, parking meters, etc...
my '06 f250 remote works everywhere, and everyone else in the city has no issue with theirs...
what's going on, and who might know enough to suggest a fix?
thanks, sorry for the long-winded post.

I have never run into a problem with the "random radio signals" in the bay area and my keyless entry on any of my vehicles.

Which dealer in SF is this?

bscolorado,

Sorry to hear that you've been having issues with your remote transmitter. If there is anything we can assist you with, or you need help finding another dealership for a second opinion, please let us know.

i purchased the truck at putnam chevrolet in burlingame, ca.
i'd be happy to try another dealership, and a different approach to fixing this...
any help i can get would be appreciated.
seems to me that if the transmitters are new, then the receiver (i'm guessing) or some other part farther down the line is the issue.

You're still under warranty, right? Check your PM, let's get to the bottom of this...

bscolorado,

If you would like for us to look into this for you please PM us your full name, VIN, and contact info, and we will reach out to Putnam Chevrolet or another dealership to get a better idea of what's causing this problem.

Thanks

Smile Similar problem solved

Hi.
I know this is a late reply, but may help you or others with remote or TPM (tire pressure monitor) responding problems.
I have a 2012 Z71 4x4 crew cab with the 5.3 V8.
In August, I took a 2000 mile trip, with my two Cairnoodles riding in the rear seat. It was hot, so I purchased a 12 volt clamp-on fan that I clamped onto the rear 'worry' holder, on the ceiling.
The fan plugged into the front socket and occilated away. About 100 miles into the trip my "Serv TPM" and the tire warning idiot light came on.
I stopped, checked the tires, they were ok.
Then, I noticed my remote was not working as well. It was Friday evening of course, so no dealer was available.
I stewed over this until I thought it through. The remote and the TPM operate via radio waves, probably at the same frequency.
I turned the engine off ( resets the computer partially), and unplugged the fan.
Both problems solved.
Adding any aux equipment that can interfere with radio waves may be the reason your remote, TPM, On-Star, Sirius or other radio wave dependent service is not working as expected.
Safe travels.
