2012 Chevy Cruze LTZ Power Has Been Reduced Shut off on Highway
Good Morning,
I have a 2012 Chevy Cruze LTZ that has about 75k miles. Just the other day I was leaving for work on a busy highway around 5:00 AM. When all of sudden I tried to give it some gas, my transmission light when on and then a power has been reduced light came on and the car stalled. I was lucky enough to pull over and avoid getting hit. I need directions on where to start. Now my car will not start. Can anyone please help?

First things first, there is no transmission light on any GM car, it is a MIL (malfunction indicator lamp) that indicates one of two things, 1. a steady on MIL means there is a trouble code stored in the computer, and should be reviewed, or 2. a blinking MIL which means that there is some kind of damage to the engine that can cause serious damage to the catalytic converter.
The power has been reduced comes on when the car goes into "limp in" mode, which basically means the cars engine power is kept low, and transmission gear is kept in second to avoid further damage to the car due to more driving. This can indicate a number of things, the only way to find out what is wrong is to take it to a Chevy dealer (of small shop) and have them look at it.
Did you buy the car new? If so Chevy has a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty for powertrain, and 3 year 36,000 mile warranty for "bumper to bumper" (anything that is not powertrain)
If you did buy it new then you are still in warranty, and take it in and have it looked at.
I'm not 100% sure if Chevy warranties transfer with new owners, say if you bought it used.

Ok so I took it to a smog place to see if they will read the error code on the Transmission light that was on. We found the following error codes:
P0299 Generic Turbo / Super Charger Underboost
P2227Barometric Pressure (BARO) Sensor Performance
I took it for an oil change and removed the negative battery cable for about 10 minutes. Then turn on the car to accessories only and got only the "P0299" error with no transmission light on I was able to drive it like this for about 30 minutes and then the light came back on...Any recommendations? What's the next step and what is power tran? warranty on Chevy Cruze standard?

Again, there is no such thing as a "transmission light".
There is a Bulletin on a p0299, there is a retention clip that is on the turbo chargers waste gate lever, this clip can fall off and the pivot lever can become weak and have too much play.
If the retention clip is missing then you just have to replace the clip, but if you can wiggle the pivot arm with little effort then the turbo needs to be replaced.

As for the P2227 check your air box, make sure that the air box to throttle body hose is not damaged, and check the connection to the mass air flow sensor. Also check any cables for being chewed on by animals.
Open up the air box and check to see of the MAF sensor has debris on it, or an excess of dirt. If so, clean it very GENTLY with a q-tip and some alcohol. (you can damage or destroy it very easily, so be VERY gentle, and do it at your own risk!).
