2012 Chevy Cruze MAF and Thermostat Housing Problem?
Hey gang, first time poster here.
I've got a confusing problem. I've got a 2012 Cruze that's around 130K miles at this point, and I've been dealing with issues like a rough idle, failing emissions checks, and occasional jerking or stuttering when accelerating up to highway speed.
Overheating was also an issue, but I believe that problem to be fixed. It's been months of vigilant watch on my engine temp and no problem since.
The Firestone guys replaced the knock sensor and did other unrelated maintenance, and I replaced the MAF sensor and thermostat housing myself at their recommendation (it was a P1101 code).
Took the car in to be inspected before and after I replaced those parts, and they're still getting a P1101 code, again recommending replacing the MAF and thermostat housing (quoted at $300+
).
Since they told me I installed the parts correctly, I find it difficult to believe both parts are faulty, so the issue must be something else entirely.
My knowledge of mechanics is very limited, apologies for not having more detailed info.
Anyone got any advice or ideas on what to check next? If I can fix it myself, I'd prefer that since I don't think another shop visit is financially feasible for a while.
